Our ReviewBy MattressVerdict Team
We’ve reviewed several hybrid mattresses from different big-name brands so far. Looking at Evolution's 8-layer construction design, we must admit that this is one of the most sophisticated mattresses you can buy today. So, let’s find out what makes it unique!
Height and Size - the Nolah Evolution Hybrid mattress is 15 inches tall. It’s available in six sizes
- Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and Cal King.
Cooling ArcticTex Euro Top - this is a quilted High Thermal Conductivity (HTC) Euro Top consisting of 2 inches of cooling foam and organic cotton cover with cooling fibers. A Euro-top mattress has a unique plushness that increases comfort without affecting support. This component makes the Evolution a great bed for people struggling with back and neck pains. Besides being soft and cool to the touch, the organic cotton cover is breathable and moisture wicking. Thus, it helps a lot in heat dissipation and keeping sleepers cool and dry.
Cooling Nolah AirFoamIce- right below the Euro Pillow Top is another 2-inch layer of graphite-infused AirFoamIce. This multipurpose layer further cools the sleeping surface by drawing heat away. It also adds some resilience, which helps with pressure relief and comfort.
High-Resilience Foam- this 2-inch layer of foam adds bounce to the foam layers above, ensuring that you don’t feel stuck when turning or getting out of bed. This resilience also helps in ensuring full-body support from head to toe.
High-Density Transition Foam- made from a strong, high-density foam, this layer adds responsiveness to the top layers. Its other role is to cushion the sleeper from the more firm coil base below it.
AirBreath Heat Escape Gusset- on the Nolah Evolution Hybrid Mattress, the gusset is a fabric cover around the foam layers. As its name suggests, this fabric is designed to allow breathability by allowing air to move in and out of the mattress freely.
Patented HDMax Trizone Coils- next up, we get to an 8-inch, individually pocketed coils system. A vital feature of this coil bed is the tri-zone design. This means that it offers customized support throughout the body for a better night’s sleep. Recently, Nolah replaced the foam edge support rails with 13.75-gauge coils. These ultra-durable coils now promise better edge support, improved durability and enhanced compatibility with adjustable bases. Also, this advanced edge support reduces sagging, further increasing this mattress’s durability.
Eco-Friendly Foundation Layer- this is a layer of recycled plant fiber. It offers a support base for the coil system giving the entire system the necessary stability.

The Nolah Evolution Mattress
Back Sleeping - the Nolah Evolution 15” mattress accommodates back sleepers well. Most people will get a good amount of sinkage around the hip and upper back areas and well balanced support overall.
Side Sleeping - this hybrid mattress is suitable for side sleeping, too. By combining a Euro Pillow top and multiple foam layers, the luxury firm model of the Nolah Evolution allows enough sinkage on the shoulders resulting in incredible pressure relief to the hips and shoulders. The tri-zoned coil system respects spinal alignment to provide you with a comfortable and relaxed sleep.
Stomach sleepers - the Luxury-Firm model of the Nolah Evolution mattress will work for most stomach sleepers below 230 lbs. If you weigh more than this, we’re glad that Nolah has a firmer version.
Firmness ReviewNolah offers you three firmness options with the Nolah Evolution 15” mattress: Plush, Luxury Firm and Firm. On a scale of 1-10 where 10 is firmest, we’d rate the three mattresses 5, 6.5 and 7-8, respectively. That said, the Luxury Firm Nolah Evolution is the most popular firmness level because it seems to balance plush and support. This mattress offers a soft and comfortable feel without diminishing support. However, heavy stomach sleepers who prefer a firmer bed will want to consider the Evolution Firm model.
Value for the MoneyThe Nolah Evolution would easily top most lists, including the best mattress for value for money. Overall, we think Nolah has kicked it out of the park with this mattress from the design front to how the mattress performs. If you’re looking for a luxurious bed that sleeps cool while offering a premium feel, support and comfort, we bet the Nolah Evolution 15” mattress is it.
The Nolah Evolution is one of the most sophisticated mattresses that we reviewed so far. With this sophistication, you get a 15-inch tall luxurious mattress that packs most features that make a great bed: excellent temperature regulation, great motion isolation, decent edge support, and almost no noise.
