Our ReviewBy MattressVerdict Team
Since its inception in 2016, Nectar has carved a niche for itself as a mattress brand that offers phenomenal value. Besides costing a lot less than most of its competitors, this mattress also gets a lot of praises for its higher-than-average construction design and choice of materials right from the cover. Let’s have a breakdown of how each of its components is built.
Cover - all along, Nectar has been engineering this mattress to accommodate all types of sleepers, including those who sweat a lot at night. This mattress’s cover is made from a polyester and nylon blend and has been infused with polyethylene yarn. Polyethylene is increasingly growing in popularity in the textile industry thanks to its radiative cooling capabilities. Importantly, this fabric promotes a cooler sleeping experience without obstructing the actual feel and performance of the foam layers beneath it.
Comfort section - underneath the cover is a 3-inch 2-pound contour and comfort layer made of gel-infused memory foam. The benefits of memory foam are well known to most people today. Being temperature- and weight-sensitive, memory foam is custom-contouring. That’s to say that it molds to your curves and natural lines, thereby promoting more restful sleep. The ability to adapt to an individual’s sleeping style makes this material a suitable choice for different sleeping styles as you’ll find out in the section below. As it stands, memory foam struggles with temperature management. However, the gel-infusion technology used in this mattress seems to work in releasing trapped heat and boosting airflow.
Transition layer - sandwiched between the comfort and base layers is another 2-inch block of 3-pound PU foam. This layer provides deep compression support so that the sleeper doesn’t sink too much on the comfort section. This is particularly important for heavier individuals, and it helps with optimal spinal alignment and pressure relief. Another key role of this support layer is to offer you a gentler transition between the soft comfort section to the firm core layer.
Base layer - lastly, we get to a 7-inch layer of 1.76 lbs PU foam. This is the supportive foundation of the mattress and it’s primarily there to hold the other layers in place. It also reinforces the layers above it to give you a flat sleeping surface with an adequate amount of support.
Our review team gave the Nectar mattress lots of marks on its overall construction and quality of materials. The comfort system does an excellent job of providing ample comfort and pressure relief by contouring to your natural curves. The polyethylene fiber and gel infusion technologies, on the other hand, contribute significantly to this mattress’ cooling abilities.

The Nectar Mattress
Let’s now switch to whom the Nectar mattress is best suited judging by its medium to medium-firm feel and 12-inch profile.
Stomach sleepers - memory foam is agreeably one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers, especially if the mattress is not too soft. With its medium to medium-firm construction, we’re convinced the Nectar will make a good choice for stomach sleepers weighing below 230 lbs. Combination sleepers weighing a little more than this should appreciate it too. At around 6 on the firmness scale, this mattress blends enough support for your lumbar area and a good amount of sinkage that’s necessary for pressure relief.
Back sleepers - we recommend back sleepers to consider medium to medium-firm mattresses. On this note, it’s not a surprise that the Nectar has tons of positive reviews from individuals who spend a significant time in the supine position. When sleeping on your back, most of your weight is spread naturally across the body. That being said, a mattress that keeps your spine aligned to your head while preventing pressure build-up around your shoulders, lower back, and hips will make a worthy choice.
Side sleepers - as expected, the Nectar mattress is wildly popular with side sleepers too. Most side sleepers prefer a mattress with a near-perfect mix of comfort and support. With its 2-pound memory foam comfort layer, the Nectar will provide a responsive flat surface to cushion your shoulders and hips for proper spinal alignment.
As far as firmness goes, the Nectar mattress falls in the medium to medium-firm range at 6 to 6.5/10. In our experience, this is a well-balanced feel and we expect it to accommodate most sleepers across different sleeping styles. At its core, the Nectar has been designed to work for individuals who have a liking for memory foam. It has a strong contourability and pronounced hug, which works well in providing plenty of comfort and support.
Value for the Money
Existing lovers of the Nectar mattress love it for several solid reasons. But its excellent value for money is definitely one of its key selling points. The Nectar mattress is one of the most affordable 12” mattresses out there- making it suited for anyone looking for an affordable memory foam bed. As if that’s not enough, Nectar goes ahead to offer you a full year worth of trial period and a lifetime warranty.
There is no doubt that the Nectar mattress is trendy. In general, we bet it will be a worthy choice particularly if you’re a sleeper under 300 lbs looking for an affordable mattress with the traditional visco-elastic feel. This mattress boasts a high degree of comfort and pressure relief and it’s incredibly supportive. As a medium to medium-firm bed, our editors suggest this will be a good bed for all sleeping positions and for relieving pressure points and back pains.
